This is an independent tour and operates daily.
Day 1, Venice
Arrival in Venice and proceed independently to your centrally located hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city once known as the “Drawing room of Europe”. Overnight in Venice.
Day 2, Venice
After breakfast, Have a walk outdoors (no entries) through the most characteristic and important places for the history of Venice. A qualified and experienced guide will escort you through the millennium of life of the Serenissima Republic, recalling the past full of charm of this unique city. An essential tour for the understanding of Venice!! After the visit of the basilica, you will be given a free coupon for a visit to a Murano glass factory in order to discover one of the Venetian greatest arts. Please note this is free of charge optional trip by private boat to Murano Island. Overnight in Venice.
Day 3, Venice - Florence
This morning depart by train to Florence. Check into your hotel and enjoy a leisurely day discovering some of the beautiful artworks of this city, known as the “Cradle of the Renaissance” or why not do some shopping on Ponte Vecchio for fine jewelry or at one of the many attractive stores for some fine Florentine leather goods. Overnight in Florence.
Day 4, Florence City Tour
After breakfast embark on a guided tour of the city. This discovery tour begins with one of the most beautiful and romantic spots in the world: Piazzale Michelangelo, where you can drink in the sights and historical panorama of Florence lying before your eyes. Then you plunge into the city itself: first stop, the Academia Gallery, famous for its David of Michelangelo, the unfinished works of art Prigioni, San Matteo, La Pietà di Palestrina and other masterpieces by the great artist. The tour ends with a stroll through the historic streets of the city to arrive at the Duomo, here you will learn the secrets of Giotto’s Bell Tower, and discover the beauty of the Baptistery with its golden, bronze doors (including the famous Porta del Paradiso). Last but not least, there is the breathtaking Cathedral itself. Overnight in Florence.
Day 5, Florence - Rome
This morning take the train to Rome where the day is at leisure for shopping or perhaps to join an optional tour. We recommend the “Imperial Rome” Tour: see Piazza Venezia, continue on foot to the famous Piazza del Campidoglio, designed by Michelangelo, from where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Roman Forums. On this tour you will proceed to view the Circus Maximus, and the Pyramid of Caius Cestius before arriving at the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls for a visit. The tour will be completed with a visit to the Colosseum. Overnight in Rome.
Day 6, Vatican Tour
This morning you will be escorted on a tour of the Vatican Museums. You will walk up the beautiful Spiral Staircase and continue through the Tapestries Gallery of the Geographical Maps. You will then enter the famous Sistine Chapel with its magnificent fresco of the Last Judgment by Michelangelo. At the end of the tour, visit St. Peter’s Basilica. The remainder of the day is at leisure for your own activities
Day 7, Rome
Today explore Rome at your own leisure, perhaps sit at an outdoor cafe` to enjoy a cappuccino and get involved in the Italian “dolce vita”.
Day 8, Arrivederci Italia!
End of your tour. Either proceed to the airport for your return flight back to Canada or extend your stay to the Amalfi Coast.
