Day 1, Saturday - Catania
Independent arrival at the hotel IL PRINCIPE. Accommodation. Welcome cocktail and dinner. Overnight in Catania.
Day 2, Sunday - Siracusa - Modica - Optional Ragusa
After a buffet breakfast, depart to Syracuse to visit the archaeological area “Neapolis” including the famous Latomie of the Paradise and the Dyionisios “Ear”. Continue to the island of Ortigia, the small baroque old city centre of Siracusa: visit of the Cathedral and Arethuse Fountain. Lunch on your own. Depart to Modica one of the main town of the Baroque art and part of UNESCO Heritage Sites. Modica is also known for the chocolate produced with an unique technique. Visit inside a real chocolate factory to discover the techniques leading to the production of chocolate.
Optional: visit “by night” of the ancient city Ragusa “Ibla”, cradle of Sicilian baroque, with its Cathedral, situated in the beautiful square of the Dome and the “giardino Ibleo” (supplement on the spot; the excursion will take place with a minimum of participants). Dinner and overnight in Ragusa
Day 3, Monday - Caltagirone - Piazza Armerina Agrigento
After a buffet breakfast, depart to Caltagirone, a small town in the inland of Sicily, declared by UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous worldwide for the production of pottery and terra-cotta wares: panoramic visit and opportunity of shopping. Continue to Piazza Armerina to visit the worldwide known Villa Romana del Casale, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, thanks to its well-preserved mosaics. Lunch in a local restaurant. Depart to Agrigento, a hillside town famous for its magnificent Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: guided tour of the Valley, including the Temple of Concordia, Juno, Zeus and Heracles. Dinner and Overnight in Agrigento.
Day 4, Tuesday - Palermo & Monreale
After a buffet breakfast depart to Palermo and you next hotel in the city center. Time at leisure. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon visit of Monreale: the Cathedral, one of the most beautiful monuments of the world with its Moorish architecture, housing very fine mosaics and the Benedictine Cloister in Arab-Norman style. Continue the visit of the historical centre of Palermo, one of the largest of Europe, including the Cathedral, the Palace of the Normans and its superb Palatine Chapel. Dinner and overnight in Palermo.
Day 5, Wednesday - Departure from Palermo
Breakfast in the hotel. Independent transfer to Palermo airport and you next destination. End of Services.
