Day 1, Wednesday: Bari
Arrival at Bari. Transfer to the hotel on your own. Meeting with the other participants. Dinner and overnight
Day 2, Thursday: Bari - Ostuni - Lecce
Breakfast and morning free time to visit the old town of Bari. Free lunch. Continue to Ostuni, a jewel of architecture better known as “the white city” for its white walls and its typical all white architecture. In the afternoon, continue to Lecce. Overnight.
Day 3, Friday: Lecce - Gallipoli - Lecce
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of the city called the “Florence of the South” and known for its famous art and architecture from the late baroque, revealed in the sixteenth century and the first half of the seventeenth century. You can admire the beautiful and rich decoration of the church of S. Oronzo, the Basilica of the Holy Cross and the Palace Celestini. On the corner of S. Oronzo admire the Roman amphitheater, the II Century ADC column of S. Oronzo, 29 meters high and a statue of the Saint on the top. Lunch in local restaurant in Lecce. In the afternoon departure to Gallipoli, a wonderful town surrounded by ramparts on the sea. Return to Lecce. Overnight.
Day 4, Saturday: Lecce - Alberobello - Polignano a Mare - Bari
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Alberobello, the Unesco Heritage Trulli town, with its typical houses with cone roofs used as houses or to store utensils. After the visit of Alberobello lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon continue to Polignano a Mare, one of the most picturesque fisherman village of Italy. The withe houses of the historical city center are build just of the on the cliff on the blue Adriatic Sea. After the visit of Polignano continue to Bari. Overnight.
Day 5, Sunday: Bari - Castel del Monte - Trani - Molfetta - Bari
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Castel del Monte for the visit of the fortress build with an unique octagonal shape from the Emperor Frederick II and one of UNESCO World Heritage Center in Italy. After the visit of the fortress continue to the town of Trani, visit the beautiful seafront Cathedral. Lunch in Trani in a local restaurant. In the afternoon continue to Molfetta with its picturesque harbour on the Adriatic sea. Return to Bari in the late afternoon. Overnight.
Day 6, Monday: Bari - Matera - Naples
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Matera internationally known for its “Sassi “. The Sassi are original settlements of prehistoric (troglodyte) and apparently the first “houses” in Italy. These houses excavated in the rock are characteristic of Basilicata and Puglia regions. Many of these “houses” are really only caverns, and the streets in some parts, go through the roofs of other houses. One of the peculiarities of this ancient city is its similarity to the ancient cities near Jerusalem. It was captured by the eyes of directors and film studios. European Capital of Culture in 2019 the historical city center of Matera is also an UNESCO Heritage Center. After the visit time at leisure for a quick lunch and departure to your final destination: the city of Naples. Arrive in Naples in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
